ANGLOGOLD ASHANTI
Geita Gold Mine (GGM) is both an operating open pit and underground mine located in the North Western Geita region of Tanzania. It is controlled & owned by AngloGold Ashanti Ltd, and is the largest gold mine in Tanzania.
Freight Forwarders Tanzania was appointed as the Primary Logistics Partner for GGM in 1999. We have managed the organization’s entire supply chain, from the early construction phase of the mine through to the erection of the extraction plant and into steady state operation. Recently GGM embarked on another phase of development moving into an underground mining project with AUMS and again FFT was appointed as the Logistics Partner of choice.
ACACIA
Acacia Mining (formerly Africa Barrick Gold) operates three active mines in Northern Tanzania i.e North Mara (Open Pit… moving underground) , Bulyanhulu (underground), and Buzwagi (open pit).
Freight Forwarders Tanzania Ltd were appointed as Acacia’s in-house Primary Logistics Partner in 2005 at all three mine sites and remain so to this day. We have been involved in all major project and logistic moves since then, assisting with the construction of a new CIL Plant at Bulyanhulu as well as the underground development at the same mine.
More recently, North Mara has begun developing an underground mine for which Freight Forwarders will again be handling all the logistics services.
PANAFRICAN ENERGY LTD
PanAfrican Energy is Tanzania’s first natural gas producer – supplying gas for power generation at the Ubungo Power Plant in Dar es Salaam. PanAfrican Energy also supplies natural gas to thirty-eight industrial and commercial customers in the Dar es Salaam area reducing their operating costs and contributing to Tanzania’s industrial growth. In addition, the company supplies Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) for use in vehicles.
Freight Forwarders Tanzania Ltd has partnered with PanAfrican Energy through their successful exploration drilling campaign. Most recently we provided the logistics support and services for three work-overs; refurbishing existing mills to enhance gas production, as well as drill one new exploration well.
TANZANIA BREWERIES LIMITED (TBL)
Tanzania Breweries Limited (TBL) is the oldest and largest brewing company in Tanzania. TBL engages in the production, distribution, and sale of malt beer and alcoholic fruit beverages in Tanzania. TBL is one of the world’s leading brewers, operating across six continents. TBL is a subsidiary of SABMiller.
Project management has historically been constant since TBL took over the management of this company. The work with Freight Forwarders Tanzania Ltd includes the upgrades of green and brown field projects in Tanzania for the last 15 years.
